The Detail AutoHaus Story: From Tools to Transformation
Every business has a story, but ours is about passion, persistence, and a relentless pursuit of perfection. Detail AutoHaus wasn’t born overnight—it’s the result of years spent under the hood, late nights in the garage, and a genuine obsession with making cars look their absolute best.
From Mechanic to Detailer: The Early Years
My automotive journey began back in 2005, working as an automotive mechanic. For 16 years, I lived and breathed cars, learning every bolt, gasket, and gear. But after more than a decade in the mechanical trade, I started to crave something different—something more creative and hands-on with the finished product.
The Spark: A Disappointing Detail
In 2016, I launched Mobile Autohaus, offering mobile detailing services on the side. Around that time, I became hooked on car detailing content—watching Ammo NYC, Obsessed Garage, and Pan the Organizer on YouTube. Their passion and attention to detail struck a chord with me. The real turning point came in 2017. I took my beloved BMW E46 M3 to get ceramic coated, expecting a flawless finish. Instead, I left disappointed. When I voiced my concerns, the detailer shrugged and said, “If you think you can do it better yourself, then go for it.” Challenge accepted.
Obsession Takes Over
That weekend, I bought a bottle of CarPro UK 3.0 and decided to ceramic coat my M3 myself. I watched every YouTube tutorial I could find, followed each step to the letter, and made sure every inch was perfect. The result? I was hooked. That Christmas, I got a ShineMate dual action polisher—and from then on, I buffed everything I could get my hands on. Friends, family, anyone who’d let me touch their car—I detailed them all, free of charge, just to learn the process and see the transformation with my own eyes.
Turning Passion into a Profession
By 2019, detailing had become more than a hobby. It was my side hustle. I’d finish my mechanic work, then head straight to detailing jobs from 5pm to midnight, three days a week. My weekends were spent washing, buffing, and ceramic coating cars, treating each one like it was my own. The process was simple but relentless: wash the car in the evening, let it dry overnight, buff it to perfection the next day, and then apply the ceramic coating at night. Sundays were reserved for interiors and final checks, with cars ready for pickup by Sunday night.
The Leap: Detail AutoHaus is Born
As 2020 rolled in, demand for detailing exploded. What started as a side gig quickly became my main focus. In 2021, I made the leap—Mobile Autohaus closed, and Detail AutoHaus opened its doors as a full-time, professional detailing studio. Since then, we’ve built our reputation on the same passion and obsession that started it all. We use the industry’s best products, constantly refine our techniques, and treat every car like it’s our own pride and joy.
The Rest is History
Today, Detail AutoHaus stands for more than just clean cars—it’s about craftsmanship, trust, and a commitment to excellence. Whether you’re a first-time customer or a long-time client, you can trust that your car is in the hands of someone who truly cares. And to think, it all started with a single disappointing detail and a challenge to do better. Want to know more about our journey or see what makes our detailing different? Get in touch or stop by the shop—we’d love to share our story and show you the Detail AutoHaus difference.

If you’re passionate about keeping your car looking its absolute best, you’ve probably heard the term “ceramic coating” thrown around. But what exactly is it, and why are so many car owners in Brookvale and beyond raving about it? At Detail AutoHaus, we’re here to clear things up and help you decide if ceramic coating is right for your pride and joy.
What Is a Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that’s applied by hand to the exterior surfaces of your vehicle. Once cured, it chemically bonds with your car’s factory paint, creating a protective layer that’s far more durable than traditional waxes or sealants. Think of it as a shield for your paintwork—one that not only keeps your car looking glossy and new but also makes it easier to clean and maintain.
How Does Ceramic Coating Work?
Ceramic coatings use advanced nanotechnology to fill in microscopic pores in your car’s paint. This creates a hydrophobic (water-repelling) surface, so water, mud, and grime simply bead up and roll off. The result? Less time washing, and more time enjoying your ride. Key benefits of ceramic coating include: Long-lasting protection: Shields your paint from UV rays, oxidation, and chemical stains. Enhanced gloss: Gives your car a deep, mirror-like shine that stands out. Easier cleaning: Dirt and contaminants have a harder time sticking, so your car stays cleaner, longer. Scratch resistance: Adds a tough layer that helps guard against light scratches and swirl marks.
Why Choose Ceramic Coating Over Wax? Traditional waxes and sealants offer short-term shine and protection, but they wear off quickly—especially in the Australian sun. Ceramic coatings, on the other hand, can last for years with proper care. At Detail AutoHaus, we use only the latest, most advanced coatings (including graphene options) to ensure maximum durability and gloss.
Who Is Ceramic Coating For?
Ceramic coating is perfect for: New car owners who want to lock in that showroom look. Enthusiasts who want the best protection for their investment. * Anyone who loves a stunning, easy-to-clean car.

The Real Secret Behind a Flawless Finish
When you see a car with a deep, mirror-like shine, you’re not just looking at a good wash or a quick wax. You’re seeing the result of expert paint correction—a meticulous process that removes swirl marks, scratches, and imperfections to reveal the true beauty of your vehicle’s paintwork.
What is Paint Correction?
Paint correction is the art and science of restoring and rejuvenating your car’s paint by eliminating surface defects. These defects can include:
Swirl marks
Fine scratches
Oxidation
Water spots
Etching from bird droppings or tree sap
Over time, improper washing, environmental fallout, and daily use can leave your paint looking dull and tired. Paint correction brings it back to life.
The 50/50 Difference: Seeing is Believing
Nothing shows the power of paint correction better than a 50/50 comparison. Imagine one side of your bonnet covered in swirls, haze, and light scratches—while the other side is perfectly glossy and crystal clear.
How is Paint Correction Done?
At Detail AutoHaus, we use professional-grade tools and products to achieve showroom results. Here’s how the process works:
Inspection & Preparation
We thoroughly inspect your paintwork under proper lighting and clean the surface to remove contaminants
2. Machine Polishing with Rupes
Using a Rupes dual-action machine polisher, we carefully level out the clear coat, removing swirls and scratches without compromising paint thickness. Rupes polishers are renowned for their precision and ability to deliver a flawless finish.
3. Multiple Stages if Needed
Some cars require a single-stage polish, while others may need a multi-stage correction (compounding, polishing, and refining) for the best results.
4. Finishing Touches
After correction, we wipe down the surface to remove any residue and inspect the results from every angle.
5. Protection
For long-lasting results, we recommend finishing with a ceramic or graphene coating to lock in that perfect finish.
Why Trust Detail AutoHaus With Your Paint Correction?
Expertise: Over 20 years in the automotive industry, certified and passionate about perfection.
Premium Equipment: We use the best—Rupes polishers and top-tier compounds.

How to Wash a Car with a Ceramic Coating Using SONAX Products: The Detail AutoHaus Guide
When you invest in a ceramic coating for your car, you’re committing to long-term protection and a stunning, glossy finish. But to keep your coating performing at its best, proper washing is key. At Detail AutoHaus, we trust SONAX for safe, effective car care. Here’s our step-by-step guide to washing your ceramic-coated vehicle the right way.
Why Special Care is Needed for Ceramic Coatings
Ceramic coatings create a strong, hydrophobic barrier that repels dirt and water. However, improper washing can still cause swirl marks, reduce hydrophobicity, or even degrade the coating over time. Using the right products and techniques preserves both the protection and the shine.
What You’ll Need:
SONAX Snowfoam
SONAX Gloss Shampoo
Microfiber Wash Mitt
Two Buckets (one for wash, one for rinse)
SONAX Microfiber Drying Towel
pH-neutral wheel cleaner (optional: SONAX Wheel Beast)
Grit guards for each bucket
Step-by-Step: Washing Your Ceramic-Coated Car
1. Pre-Rinse Thoroughly
Start by rinsing the entire vehicle with a hose or pressure washer. This removes loose dirt and debris, reducing the risk of scratching during washing.
2. Clean the Wheels First
Always begin with the wheels, as they’re typically the dirtiest part. Use a dedicated wheel cleaner (like SONAX Wheel Cleaner) and a separate mitt or brush. Rinse thoroughly before moving on.
3. The Two-Bucket Method
Fill one bucket with water and SONAX Car Wash Shampoo Concentrate, and the other with clean water for rinsing. Place a grit guard in each to trap dirt.
Wash Mitt: Dip your SONAX microfiber mitt in the soapy bucket, wash a small section, then rinse it in the clean water bucket before reloading with soap.
Work Top to Bottom: Always wash from the roof down, as lower panels are the dirtiest.
4. Address Stubborn Contaminants
If you notice tar spots, bug splatter, or iron fallout, use SONAX Fallout Cleaner or a dedicated tar remover as needed. Always follow the product’s instructions and spot test on a small area first.
5. Rinse Again
Once the entire car is washed, rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
6. Dry with Care
Use a clean, plush SONAX microfiber drying towel. Gently blot or drag the towel over the surface—don’t rub, as this can cause micro-marring.
7. Optional: Boost Hydrophobicity
If you want to refresh your coating’s water-repelling properties, you can use a ceramic booster spray after drying. SONAX Hypercoat is great for this!
Pro Tips from Detail AutoHaus
Never wash in direct sunlight: This prevents water spots and streaks.
Avoid automatic car washes: They can scratch and dull your coating.
Wash regularly: Every 1–2 weeks is ideal to maintain that fresh, glossy look.
Use high-quality microfiber only: Cheap towels can scratch the coating.
Why Trust Detail AutoHaus?
At Detail AutoHaus, we’re certified experts in ceramic coatings and aftercare. We use SONAX products because they’re safe, effective, and trusted by professionals worldwide. Whether you’re caring for your new BMW, Ferrari, or daily driver, we’re here to help you protect your investment.
